Craig Street Brew Pub, 25 Craig St, Duncan, BC V9L 1V7 (open in Google Maps)

Presented by OpenHack Cowichan
Host: Kyle Loree on LinkedIn
A casual tech night built around whatever people have actually been working on over the summer: shipped code, a homelab, an AI experiment, a side project, or the honest admission that you got nowhere near any of it. Local developers, IT professionals, entrepreneurs, makers and tech enthusiasts all turn up, and first-timers are as welcome as the regulars. There is no formal presentation and, in Kyle's own framing, no pressure to have anything impressive to report. It is billed as a relaxed evening among people who enjoy technology and building things. Head to the top floor of the pub.
Anu's Take
If you want a preview of BSidesVI, this is the single best place and night to get one. It is the regular room for Island cyber security professionals, and where the BSidesVI team spends its downtime. Nine days before the conference opens, with no formal presentation and nothing to prepare.
