Only a human can be an inventor. That much is settled, and Matthew treats it as a starting point rather than an argument: his premise is that research teams already use AI and being gun shy about it helps nobody. What he offers instead is a record. Document aggressively up to the moment AI enters the process, he argues, and you can iterate freely after it. He works through where that line sits, what a provisional filing and proper timestamped version history actually buy you, and why the gap between what you conceived and what the model handed back is worth something on its own. Aimed at founders and investors, and educational, so nothing said creates a solicitor-client relationship.

Matthew is based out of Austin, so catch him in person while you can. He has a very firm grasp on this, and he eats his own dog food: fourteen open patent families, some of them his, and a recent one he deliberately ran the way he tells clients to, thirty thousand words of transcripts and images handed to a drafting attorney with no restrictions on the AI. Most guidance on this subject arrives from a safe distance.
