Bohdan Zabawskyj, who started TrueNorthCTO, is on the Island in early October, so the Victoria chapter is putting on drinks. No talks, no agenda, no name tags, just a few technology people. He has held chief technology and product roles at RLDatix, Quandl, Rypple, Audiobooks and Redknee, and is a named inventor on more than twenty patents. The community came out of his own first job at that level, and a sense that anyone in those roles needed somewhere to compare notes honestly. TrueNorthCTO is an invite-only community for whoever owns the technology decisions where they work. This one is the informal version of that, in a room with pool tables through the back. A quick RSVP is all that is asked.
Who's in the room: CTOs, CIOs, CISOs, CPOs and founders from around Victoria, plus anyone curious about the community.
Anu's Take
Three thousand members, a claimed two hundred billion in collective impact behind them, and volunteers running the whole thing since 2015. Bohdan is in from Toronto for two hours of it. People who build something that size rarely make themselves this easy to meet.
