Two talks, 45 minutes each with questions after. Ontology basics from Daniel Kopaee of Fernwood Agentic, on spotting patterns in a fluid, probabilistic world and projecting them back onto the latest semantic models. Then LLM security from Calum Bird of Trelent, on the spectrum of what counts as private AI and whether your data is really training the model. Anyone can come, though RSVPs are approved rather than automatic, and Nick says the series returns to UVic next month.
Anu's Take
So sad I can't attend this one, because Calum Bird on LinkedIn and Daniel Kopaee are both rockstars. Ontology basics beside LLM security is a sharper pairing than it looks: one is about naming things precisely enough for a machine to use them, the other about what happens to what you hand it. It is also always great to spend time with Geoff Shera on LinkedIn at Frontier.
