Organizer(s): VIATEC
This is a closed VIATEC peer group for senior technical leaders: CTOs, architects and experienced developers who guide teams and shape technology strategy. It meets monthly around one year-long question. What is the role of developers and engineering leadership when AI agents can generate the majority of the code? The sessions ask how quality and reliability hold up when a team rarely writes code and may not read it. They also look at how oversight and engineering principles change to manage risk, and which long-held practices to keep. Eligibility applies to join.
Who's in the room: CTOs, software managers and founders, each responsible for how their own team builds software.
Anu's Take
If you lead engineers, this one's worth your Monday evening. I treat AI as a confident first drafter that gets you most of the way there, and the rest still takes someone who knows what good looks like. You may not leave with answers, but you'll likely find others working through the same questions. If you think you fit the bill and want to be in the room, contact Rob Bennett and let him know you heard about it on Where's Anu.

Once AI does the coding, deciding what is worth making stays with us, which is what I took from finally building an idea I had carried for ten years.
