Hosts: Elsa Kastrati on LinkedIn, Samantha Magnus on LinkedIn
A laid-back social for people who work with data, from seasoned practitioners to the merely data-curious. The organisers bill it as no agenda and no presentations: turn up, get a drink, and talk to whoever is there. Nothing is prepared, and nothing is expected of you. This edition moves to the Phillips Taproom in Rock Bay. The two socials before it were in Uptown, so anyone returning on memory would be in the wrong part of town. Phillips has added a kitchen, now run by Roast, and the drinks list carries tasting flights, cocktails and non-alcoholic options alongside the beer. Group reservations at the taproom start at parties of eight, so a smaller table is a walk-in.
Anu's Take
A social called Data & Beer, at a brewery, twelve days before autumn officially starts. The venue has moved across town to Rock Bay, so anyone navigating from memory ends up in Uptown looking at the wrong parking lot. Phillips has a kitchen in there now, which improves the odds of the good conversations outlasting the first pint.
