Steve Harris has stopped copying prompts from one AI session into the next. His coding agents now work through bounded phases overnight, and a pull request is waiting for his review in the morning. The talk follows how he got there, including the real failures and what each one changed in his setup. The method writes down intent before any code starts, using GitHub's spec-kit. Steve covers the controls that let him walk away, including session guards, phase checks and decision rights, and no experience with the toolkit is needed. Doors open at 11:30 and presentations start at noon in the Shaw Conference Room. Coffee and tea are served, and the Fort Cafe on site has lunch.
Who's in the room: Developers, tech leads and engineering managers who hand work to agents, and anyone curious about trying it.
Anu's Take
This is very timely, the new redesigned and architected Where's Anu? is built with AI-assisted coding courtesy of Claude Code. Working with the tools to set them off on tasks while I sleep is my top productivity enhancement of 2026. I look forward to waking up and seeing what was built during the night. It's not as simple as it sounds. So take the lunch and come hear how Steve is handling this kind of work.

An agent that keeps building after you log off goes at the same gap that kept my own idea on the shelf for ten years, which was having the time rather than knowing how.
