Organizer(s): Green Drinks Victoria
Green Drinks is back at Swans and back in the regular swing of things. Third Thursday of every month @ 5 PM, the way it ran before the summer break. No tickets, no RSVP required. The 4 PM BCIC meetup picks up again too, same spot beforehand. Given the interest in the housing innovation work, the organizers are keeping it going and pointing it at something specific this season: where the development process actually slows down, and what that costs. Small table, people who build things for a living. Come at 4 if that's your world, come at 5 for the pub, both works. New to Green Drinks? It's an informal monthly gathering that's been running in cities around the world for decades, and in Victoria for a good while now. There's no programming and nobody is selling anything. It's a mix of engineers, architects, developers, planners, trades, founders and people from the utilities and the public side, in a pub, talking about work they'd normally only discuss inside their own discipline. The useful conversations tend to be the ones across those lines. Turn up on your own, you won't be on your own for long.
Anu's Take
In addition to the leaves changing colour, scratch that, we're not in Ontario anymore, the one thing I look forward to in the fall is regular Green Drinks programming. I'm especially looking forward to this one as it's the first one since the Victoria Tech Week gala. Curious to chat with people post-VTW26 hangover.
