Diana De Cotiis of Gold Petal Coaching and Facilitation partners with the hosts for this month's jam, all about Liberating Structures. These are group methods, recognized around the world, that help people flatten hierarchy, hear from quieter voices and reach better ideas. The jam works through a few of the most useful ones, then puts them into practice. It suits facilitators, designers, project managers, business owners, community organizers and anyone curious, and no background in facilitation or design is needed. The venue is wheelchair accessible by elevator, and the hosts ask anyone who needs other accommodations to let them know.
Anu's Take
If you've ever walked out of a meeting where the same three people did all the talking, give this one an evening. I keep coming back to the idea that adoption comes down to trust, and it's hard to build trust in a room where half the people never got a word in. Bring along the colleague who chairs your team meetings. You may both walk away with a better way to start the next one.
