A four-part series for people 55 and over who are new to technology, though anyone is welcome. It covers phones, tablets, computers, Wi-Fi and the internet, and the words that come with them. The safety basics are in there too, from strong passwords to spotting phishing. Protecting your personal information is part of it as well. The groups are small. Bring your own phone, tablet or laptop, and the organizers may be able to lend one for the session if you ask ahead. One registration covers all four sessions, and online sign-up closes the morning of November 7. You'll meet in the library's community room, so ask at the front desk when you arrive.
Anu's Take
If I could change one habit for everybody, it'd be how they sign in. Turning on the extra sign-in step, the code that comes to your phone, means a stolen password isn't enough on its own. Ask about it while you're there.
