You do not need to be an expert, Alhwyn Geonzon says you do not need to know how to code either, and you can come alone or in a team of up to four. Registration is by approval rather than automatic, and space is limited: he is pitching it at 150 to 200 builders. It is a one-day hackathon for people who want to finally ship a project they have always wished existed, and Alhwyn is explicit that it is not a demo day. The stated aim is not polished UIs, slide decks, or pitch theatrics, but what you tried to build, what broke, and what actually shipped. Plan for a full Saturday. Workshops run through the late morning from GMI Cloud, Cursor, Convex, and Solana, the afternoon is a long build phase, and it closes with a hard submission deadline, demos capped at three minutes each, and judging. Demos are mandatory to be eligible for a prize. There are four prize tracks: Convex for the best project on their realtime backend, database, auth, or functions ($1,000 USD first, $500 second); Solana for the best onchain app, wallet, payment, or agent tooling ($500 USD); Best AI Agent Application on GMI Cloud ($500 USD); and RevenueCat's Shipaton for the best mobile app shipped on the day, which carries a Shippy trophy, a swag kit, and entry into the main Shipaton. Every participant gets sponsor credits: $20 Cursor, $10 GMI Cloud, $100 Render, $50 Exa, 100,000 ElevenLabs, 10,000 Firecrawl, and three months of Wispr Flow. Snacks, drinks, limited-edition swag, and mentors on site all day.

Anu's Take

This one's going to be epic. I was at last year's, about 60 people showed, and the winner, Calum Bird on LinkedIn, built an app that connected to his bank account and an SMS service to track his spending and text him a burn whenever he made a bad call. The poorer the spending decision, the bigger the burn. It was brilliant.
