This is the once-a-year version of a room that otherwise meets on the third Thursday of the month at Swans Brewpub, and in Chris's own telling its 250 guests made it the best-attended event of the entire week last year. Founders next to the people who fund them, engineers and policy staff, researchers and operators, and a fair number who turned up because they heard the room was good. This year it moves to the Union Club of British Columbia, one of the oldest private members' clubs in Canada. Entry is free and the partners cover your first two drinks. An optional $20 supporter ticket sends the full amount to a local charity. Registration is approval-based, and Chris says capacity is real this year, so a spot is worth holding early.
Anu's Take
Last year's was a good time, and I am pretty sure I closed the place down with a couple of other key players. Same room as this year, so the Union Club is a return rather than the first it is billed as. Not that it matters much once you are through the door.
