Caroline Wakefield of The Generous AI Society opens with Beyond the AI Brainstorm. If you've been using ChatGPT for ideas and that's where it ends, this one's for you. Caroline walks us through what AI can do in the day-to-day of running a business or a team, from client onboarding and proposals to building a knowledge base for your business, drawing on real client stories. You'll leave with three ideas to try this month, no technical skills needed. Then Rachel Krayenhoff van de Leur, AI educator and consultant, takes it from idea to practice with a walkthrough of how to set up your first automation. Most of us repeat the same tasks every week. Rachel shows how to hand one of them off, so your hours go to the work only you can do: the strategic thinking that actually grows a business. After the talks, the room moves into small discussion tables. You don't need to bring a laptop. KPMG's office is in Suite 800. Straight afterwards, everyone is invited to the Victoria Data Society's Data & Beer Fall Social at Swans Pub from 5 p.m. You can register for free here.
Who's in the room: Women who run service businesses in Greater Victoria (consultants, practitioners, advisors, agencies and small firms), along with founders still deciding and people from product, retail, government and nonprofit teams.
Anu's Take
Great to see this on the agenda! The discussion tables are hosted by people already using AI in their own business, and I'm super stoked to be facilitating one. Bring the part of your work that eats the most time, or the thing that's actually stopping you, and work through it with your table.
